Save Money with a Ductless HVAC System

More and more people are discovering that ductless systems can save a lot of money for a homeowner from month to month.

This begs the question of how those little boxes can pack so much money-saving power. Ductless systems didn’t take long to skyrocket in popularity. Not only are they highly recommended by a lot of HVAC companies, but a lot of homeowners are seeking them out as well. The main reason for its popularity is how it is designed specifically for energy savings. Standard central HVAC units used to make so much sense. Air is pulled in from outside, heated or cooled among the equipment, and then sent out through the ducts to every room in the home. Little did we know, when air is run through the system, sending it out into the ducts is actually undoing everything the HVAC system just did. When heated air is sent through central ductwork, it is potentially collecting allergens and dust that is sitting in the ducts while getting cooled down all over again by the metal walls of the ductwork. This forces the HVAC equipment to work harder than it needs to just to heat or cool a room a couple degrees. Ductless systems are heating and sending out the air in the room that needs the temperature change, thereby not having to work as hard as central HVAC equipment. Ductless systems, unlike central HVAC systems, also come with an inverter-driven compressors. This means that, instead of standard HVAC compressors that turn themselves on and off, ductless compressors stay on and merely run higher or lower. While it seems like the standard compressor would save more energy by shutting all the way off, the fact of the matter is that it is a big waste of energy every time the compressor starts itself up again.
