I live in the northern region, along the edge of 1 of the Great Lakes, however our Winter time weather is brutal, both of us get hit with lake effect snow, hot plus cold temperatures well below zero plus dangerous windchill! It’s not unregular for the Winter time chilly plus snow to last for 6 to more than seven straight weeks; There are frequent university closings plus driving bans.
Both of us spend a lot of time inside the house, plus rely heavily on the furnace.
This year, the nasty weather started much earlier than usual. The leaves had not finished falling from the trees plus I still had a ton of raking to take care of when it began snowing. I was not at all prepared for the serious chilly to settle in so early. I had not yet hauled out the Winter time sweaters, hats, gloves plus boots. The snow shovels plus ice scrapers were still packed away, plus I hadn’t gotten around to purchasing rock salt. I was in a big rush to put away the patio furniture plus barbecue grill. I needed to shut down plus winterize the pool plus get snow tires on our car. I completely forgot about having the furnace professionally maintained. I simply turned up the control unit plus expected heat… While the furnace has continued to operate, it’s legitimately not running at its best. I’ve been honestly conscientious about replacing the air filter every week, plus yet the heating system is introducing a lot of dust into the indoor air. It seems to struggle with the especially chilly hot plus cold temperatures at night, plus there’s chilly areas in the house! My heating bills are much higher than I’d like, but I’m just hoping the furnace can make it until Spring. I’ve done everything possible to reduce strain on the heating unit. I’ve set the control unit as low as fair plus put plastic over the windows. I’ve shut the vents plus doors to unoccupied rooms, unfortunately, it’s now the end of May plus the weather is still so chilly that I’m forced to keep running the furnace.
