As an adult, I feel basically like I am a bit weird because of my different experiences growing up.
When I was a kid, I grew up in a much different residence than everyone. My family did not have the same financial status as most of the people in our area… All of us lived on a substantial farm, had a very small income, and produced most of our food and clothing ourselves. All of us actually lived the easy life. All of us barely had up-to-date amenities, such as TV, indoor lighting, and central heating and cooling machines. There were times that we chose to go separate from all up-to-date appliances. Growing up, we rarely utilized any form of indoor air temperature control whatsoever. Most of the time, we had to rely on nature’s ventilation for our indoor air temperature control. Living out in the country on a substantial Farm, we had the finest outdoor air quality. The weather conditions were easily comfortable enough and the air always felt fresh and clean. When we opened our windows and fresh air came rolling in from outside, it was always so refreshing. I honestly appreciated the lovely sensation of waking up to a nice cool morning with the windows open and a breeze rolling through. As an adult, I feel basically like I am a bit weird because of my different experiences growing up. I still hate to use central heating and cooling machines. I am not a fan in the least of our forced air oil furnace or the large air conditioner machine outside. If I’m being honest, I love fresh air anytime I can get it. I’m sure my buddies and neighbors believe that I’m a real kook, especially when I make the decision to sleep outside in fresh air rather than utilizing our central Heating plus Air Conditioning machine indoors.
