Trying to work, but it's too cold

in the past few weeks things have really been working out well for my personal and professional lives.

I started seeing a new guy who happens to live 10 minutes away from my work, so in general my life has gotten extremely convenient. When I get done with my job every day, I can drive right over to his house for dinner and cuddling. In the morning, he leave super early to go to work and I hang around his apartment for a while. I can get some of my own work done from his place, and I head into my own job when traffic settles down. It’s made my day is extremely efficient and I’m getting a ton done. Well, usually I am. I should say that there has been some complicated morning. When you aren’t familiar with somebody’s apartment, it’s difficult to be completely comfortable. Specifically, as the outdoor air temperature has been dipping and the indoor air temperature has been colder, I haven’t been able to adjust the indoor air temperature to my exact preferences. Since I’m at someone else’s place, I don’t want to abuse at the furnace. I would hate to be the cause of a heating system breakdown. It would be so embarrassing if I change the thermostat settings and the entire furnace stopped working. Instead, I’ve been trying to work with cold fingers and toes. It’s not ideal, but I would rather be a little uncomfortable then to ruin a good thing. It doesn’t really matter anyways, because even if I was bold enough to change the furnace settings, I don’t know the passcode for the smart thermostat.
