Staying home would have been warmer

Last year I went to visit my daughter who lives in the south.

I wanted to be able to get away from the cold and snow for a couple of weeks and relax on the beach while enjoying the heat and sunshine.

I got on the plane and it was only twenty-eight degrees. I was so happy to get into the airport and feel the heat coming from the air vents. When I landed, they had the air conditioning running and it was nice and cool in the airport. I didn’t realize how cool it was outside because I was able to pick up my rental car and they brought it around to the front door. I didn’t even need to go outside. I finally got to my daughter’s house, and I was surprised at how old it was in her house. She said they had the air conditioning turned off, but they didn’t have the furnace turned on yet. It was only sixty-five and I was shivering. I wasn’t able to handle the cooler temperatures with the medication I was on. She offered to turn on the furnace for me, but there were six people looking at me like I was crazy. They were in shorts and t-shirts while I was bundled inside my sweater jacket. I even went shopping so I could buy some heavier clothing. I couldn’t wait for the two weeks to end so I could home to my warm home. It may be colder outside at home, but I have a furnace that runs well and my heating works perfectly. No one tells me where to set my thermostat.
