I always work

The lease on my apartment was up on the first of January.  In the area where I live, this is not the optimum time to move.  We typically have temperatures well below freezing and tons of snow at that time of year.  Unfortunately, I had little choice in the matter. I was unhappy with the size, rent and location of the apartment and had found a much better place across town.  Because of the holiday season, however, I found it difficult to handle the switching of utilities. Even attempting to rent a movie van was a challenge. There was definitely some miscommunication, because the utilities at the old apartment were switched off the day prior to the move.  I had no lights, no running water and no heat. I’d also packed up the majority of my clothes and blankets, so I spent a very cold and miserable last night. The following morning, I ended up moving in a blizzard. The temperature was down to twelve degrees with steady snowfall. Despite blasting the heater and defrost in the moving van, I nearly froze to death and the windshield was totally iced over.  I then spent several hours carrying my belongings up the stairs. Because of continually opening and closing the door, I decided not to turn up the heat in the new apartment. I didn’t want to waste energy or put too much stress on the heater. Once everything was unloaded in the apartment, I was super anxious to get the heater going and warm up. I then discovered that the heater was no working.
