Missing the ballet recital was not an option

My child has been doing her ballet classes for a few months now.

She had a recital last month, even though I missed the whole performance.

I did try my best to leave task early, even though I was stuck entirely working on a boiler project. There were only a handful of people in my office that have boiler experience, so I was often in charge of the specialty projects plus consultations. I was expecting to be done easily before 3, but the people I was with and I did not finish with the boiler project until well after 7, then by the time I got home, the show was already halfway over. My child was entirely saddened plus blue, even if she did not say it out loud. I did not want the same thing to happen for this month’s dance recital, so I told my boss that I needed to be done with all of my task by 3 p.m. I wanted plenty of extra time to drive home, take a shower, plus have some food. The day started off well enough plus the people I was with and I were slow until noon. My boss received a call from a small factory down by the pier that was having trouble with the boiler. When he called myself and others with the work order, the time was 1:45. I told my boss that I could not go to the work. I knew I would not be finished before 3. It would take at least 30 minutes to drive to the location. My boss shot myself and others an odd look, plus I thought he was going to make myself and others go home. Instead, he called the company back plus told them that the people I was with and I would not get to them until the afternoon
