When my husband and I were building our current home, there was 1 thing both of us were pretty excited about, which was the screened in porch idea. The best section about buildinga a place from the ground up, is that you can customize it anyway you’d like, and when both of us met with our contractor the first time, both of us expressed our desire to have a greater than average sizes screened in porch off the side of the house. The front porch was to be left un-screened, but it was essential to have the side porch screened. The two of us sat out there with some wine and started reading our books, however after a few minutes though, the air became very tepid and heavy. The two of us were so anxious about the bugs that both of us completely forgot about the temperature! My husband called the contractor the following morning and asked him if there was anything both of us could do to make the section cooler, and he proposed installing ceiling fans, which would circulate the air and make it all cooler. The two of us were willing to try anything, so he indeed did have the ceiling fans installed the following week. After they were installed, both of us felt an immediate difference in the air! Now, our screened in porch is usable!
