Relying in heat at hockey game

My husband and I are huge hockey fans. Whenever possible, we like to attend the games. Because we live in the northeastern part of the country, the majority of hockey season is extremely cold and snowy. The roads are often too icy for us to drive to the games. When we make the trip, we need to bundle up in our wool coats and heavy boots. We then start the car and leave the heater and defrost running for at least fifteen minutes to clear the windshield. My husband and I spend that time brushing snow off the car and shoveling the driveway. We make the sixty minute drive to the arena, park the car and then nearly froze to death walking to the venue. With outdoor temperatures in the negative digits, it’s necessary to heat the rink. Even with overhead heaters supplying warm air, we wear our winter coats for the entire game. Because of the challenges of the weather, my husband and I usually prefer to stay home and watch the game on television. We can wear our pajamas and have access to drinks, snacks and the thermostat. We set our preferred temperature and are perfectly warm. Last winter, we visited my son down south and he took us to a hockey game. We wore shorts and T-shirts and ran the air conditioner in the car. During the walk from the parking lot to the venue, we all ended up sweaty. It was actually a relief to step inside the chilly rink. It was weird to us that they had the air conditioner running.
