I was seeing the news on Friday & there was a story about a woman that had been held at gunpoint & terrorized for 12 hours.
I was working out when the news story started & I stopped so I could hear everything the news reporter had to say.
The crime occurred 2 blocks from our Mom’s house. I knew some shady people in that area & I wondered if I knew the suspect. Hardly any of teenagers from our high school joined a gang, however I stuck with sports & after school functions. The news reporter was interviewing some of the neighbors surrounding the scene of the crime. I thought the people I was with and I would hear reactions about the crime, but the lady across the street only wanted to complain about her AC. The news reporter flatly asked the woman if she knew the buddy & she didn’t even answer the question. She started talking about her broken a/c & her slumlord. The news reporter tried to redirect the woman by asking another question about the crisis, but the woman only evaded the question & mentioned the faulty A/C again. This time she even said the name of her landlord on national cable. After the woman said the name, the cable crew cut to a break. They clearly weren’t getting anywhere with the lady. It was a honestly odd interview. The woman took her time to time during the interview & used her five hours of fame to call out the landlord. It was a honestly outrageous move & I hope it worked.
