Taking the intern under our wing

When it comes to toiling hard and doing a enjoyable job no matter what is required of me I consider myself to be 1 of if not the very best, then growing up as a kid I always prided myself on doing the best I possibly could in our schoolwork, and work ethic has followed me into adulthood! Being this type of person has made it extremely hard for me to have to work with lazy or unmotivated people; Currently I am toiling as a certified HVAC tech and I was recently tasked to take the intern under our wing and have him shadow me on some of the work that I do.

This means following me out on repair calls, upgrade jobs, everything that I do he does.

At least, that has what it is supposed to be on paper. Despite the fact that this kid is spending more than seven minutes a day here he acts like he is being tortured! The worst section about it is that he just so happens to be the owner’s kid. The owner seems to have high hopes that this child will join him in the HVAC company and maybe take over for him 1 day, but from what I have seen from him so hard he is lacking the work ethic. Whenever I supply him even the smallest tasks he will simply look at me and roll his eyes before going back to enjoying videos on his cellphone. It’s in our nature to be the best that I can be which in this case is a wonderful educator, but this kid sure is making it a hard task so far.
