As a homeschooled kid, I admit my childhood was quite sheltered.

My parents meant well and I did have a wonderful life.

But, socially it was hard for me to fit in. I recall one time when I was 15, I went to stay with my aunt in the city. My cousins wanted us to go to a party, but I had never been to one. It was such a huge experience for me and I tried my best not to feel awkward among the other kids. That was the day I decided I wanted to move away as soon as I was able to do so. One advantage of my life was my grandparents were wealthy and left me a huge inheritance. As soon as I was 20 years old, I bought a house then announced one day that I was moving out. The house was an excellent 2 bedroom near where one of my cousins lived with excellent air conditioning. The air conditioner was one of the things my cousin, who helped me with house hunting, insisted I check out in a new home. The area we live in gets so hot in summer and barely any snow in winter so an air conditioner was the most important unit to own. I got an HVAC expert who ascertained that the house did have an excellent air conditioner just like the estate agent had stated. The owner had installed new air conditioning and even done work on the duct work. Before leaving, the HVAC expert left me his contacts for HVAC repairs and servicing.
