Look, I’m not saying that I would be a world beater had I been in charge of our regional office.
But I think I would have paid a bit more attention to the details when it came to running the office.
Using money that was expressly designated for heating and cooling and diverting it to make the bottom line look better wouldn’t have happened. Yet then again, I’m not a liar and not afraid to look at a problem and come to a solution. I don’t have to be right or get all the glory. I just want the office to run well. That might be part of why the entire management team was walked out of the office last month. It was supposed to be a corporate visit so the management team played their smoke and mirrors game in the bad air conditioning of the office. But corporate came with their own surprise. We have a new boss and a corporate transition team here now. One of the very first things the new bunch did was to upgrade the quality heating and air in the office. The HVAC company was there for several days changing out HVAC equipment and we now have great commercial HVAC. The HVAC technology change is like day and night. Suddenly, I don’t hate having to be at my desk because I’m comfortable! What a concept. And there’s even zone controlled HVAC as well. The new boss set up the zones per our suggestions and we were free to move our desks to a temperature zone that worked better. Just the change in air conditioning gives me hope that this place can be turned around.
