When I went to visit a friend of mine at their college dorm recently, it was an experience! You would think that all dorms are the same, right? Nope! Not in the case of what my friend had! He was in an upper class college. This college was not one of the normal ones that had those tiny and nasty dorm rooms. The dorm rooms were almost like a mini house or apartment! Also, the dorm had radiant heated floors in it! I could not believe it! Radiant heated floors in a dorm? That was really awesome! During the cold winter months, these radiant heated floors really did my friend a lot of good. Also, my friend had the luxury of not having any roomate in his dorm. This is how upscale this college was! In addition to the radiant heated floors, my friend also had his very own smart thermostat in his dorm room! Most of the dorms in normal schools can not control their thermostat. In this upscale dorm, all the students had smart thermostats and could control their own temperature. With all the latest in heating and cooling technology in these dorms, you would think that this was some kind of HVAC school! But no, it is a college. My friend is actually going for his degree in business management. However, who knows. That business management degree could be used in the heating and cooling business. With as much as he has in HVAC technology within his dorm room, it would not surprise me if he went that direction!
