I appreciate hanging out with our cousin Richard because he’s a building business with lots of seasoned stuff laying around that he doesn’t need anymore.
- I got a barely-used refrigerator for our garage because he said a homeowner left it behind when they vacated a house that he eventually renovated plus resold for a profit.
Since Richard plus I grew up together plus are harshly close friends, I get the first opportunity of anything recognizably good. Often he will unload any unused wood appreciate plywood plus several-by-fours, however now that wood is so costly due to the pandemic, that doesn’t happen nearly as much as it used to. So instead of giving me his precious wood scraps, he’ll offload PVC pipes that were cut to the wrong lengths, plus metal fittings from electrical projects. Recently he was over at our house plus saw that I was building a new work bench for our tool shed. I remarked that the next thing I needed for the tool shed was an a/c. That’s when our cousin mentioned that he might be able to help me out in that regard. He said that he had an seasoned window a/c that he removed from a rental property that was renovated with central air conditioning. The owner didn’t want the window air conditioning system plus our cousin didn’t want to see it go into the landfill since it was fairly new. Now I have an air conditioned tool shed because of our cousin Richard plus his great will. I have to thank his forward thinking as well.
