I had a little bit of extra money in the budget to make changes to the website
Almost 20 years ago, I started a heating and air conditioning repair business. I was working for a company that was naturally known and I was never going anywhere. As a NATE certified technician, I knew that I could start my own business if I had the capital. I saved up for 3 years and then the bank agreed to give me a small business loan. When I started the heating and air conditioning system repair business, I did not have a website. I wasn’t concerned with the internet. I honestly didn’t think it was going to turn into such a big deal. I ended up caving in and making a website on one of those DIY applications. The website had all of my information and a phone number to call for service. It was very rudimentary, but it got the job done. It’s been almost 15 years since I built that website and it was the same until 6 months ago. My nephew went to college for website design and search engine marketing. He saw me at the annual picnic and had a lot of ideas for the website. I could tell that he was excited and I really wanted to give the kid a try. He had a lot of great ideas and I had just finished paying off my small business loan. I had a little bit of extra money in the budget to make changes to the website. The kid started on a Monday and was finished with the website by friday. He included helpful information about heating and air conditioning repairs and troubleshooting and also set up the website so it was much more user friendly.
