There is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night and realizing there is no heating in the house.
- It is really hard to crawl out of bed and get ready for work, when you don’t have any heating.
I had to be to work at 4AM and I was greeted with a furnace that wasn’t working. I woke my husband who asked me if I would put in an emergency call to the HVAC company before I left. About 8AM, I got a call from the HVAC company. They said they could get to our house by four that afternoon, if someone was going to be home. I knew that I would be home from work at that time, so I told them to come on by. When I got home, I had forgotten how cold my house was going to be. I was grateful that my husband had thought to get the wood stove burner before he went to work. I threw some wood on the fire, and I curled up on the recliner, with my feet to the stove, trying to get them warm. About fifteen minutes, I was awakened by the HVAC company. It didn’t take him long to be able to get the furnace working again. He told me that it was a simple fix and since I didn’t tell him to come right out, he wasn’t going to charge me the fee for an after hours call. I was grateful for this since it would have added a huge charge to what would have been a small service fee. My husband found me sound asleep by the wood burner and the furnace was humming cheerily.
