Ductless Systems May Save the Utility Bills

Nowadays it is no surprise that going ductless can save a lot of money on the utility bills.

Have you ever wondered how those little boxes on the wall can save such a substantial amount of money? Ductless systems have become more and more popular over the years among homeowners and their HVAC technicians due to their unique energy-saving design.

Standard duct systems pull air in from outside, heat it or cool it, and then send it through their system of ducts to reach its destination – the rooms in your home. Duct systems always used to seem to make the most sense, heating and cooling the air in one spot, but sending that air through the ducts could mean potentially undoing everything the system did. When the aid is heated by the HVAC system, pushing it through the ductwork not only invites allergens and dust into the air, but it also cools the air before it even has a chance to reach the vents. This means that the HVAC equipment is being forced to work harder than it has to for the air to reach its desired temperature. Ductless systems create the air at the temperature needed right there in the same room you’re wanting the air to come into. Ductless models also have inverter-driven compressors. While a standard HVAC outdoor compressor turns itself on and off, ductless unit compressors simply run higher or lower. This can save a lot of energy as it keeps the room at one constant temperature. Compressors used to be believed to save energy because it shuts itself off, but the truth is that a lot of energy is wasted every time it starts itself up again.
