Boiler is the best type of heating system on the market

When my husband and I bought a house with a boiler heating system, I wasn’t overly happy about it.

  • I loved everything about our new home but didn’t trust the boiler.

I’d always been led to believe that boilers were noisy, dirty and a lot of work. Since the boiler was quite old, I hoped it would fail so we could replace it. After moving into the house, I completely changed my mind. A boiler is most definitely the best style of heating system on the market. The only drawback is the lack of any type of cooling capability. Since I live in the northeast, where the weather is cold and wet just about all year round, we don’t need air conditioning. We need a heater than can handle temperatures down to twenty-five degrees below zero and operate dependably for eight months straight. The boiler easily keeps up with demand and provides very gentle and evenly distributed comfort. The system operates silently and requires only annual maintenance. Because the boiler is a closed system and relies on water to move heat energy, it doesn’t introduce dust or other allergens into the breathing air. My house stays clean and there’s no worry over problems with indoor air quality. Plus, the boiler is wonderfully versatile. It can link to baseboard heaters, radiators and radiant flooring. We have baseboard heaters in the majority of the rooms. When we remodeled the kitchen and bathroom, we installed radiant flooring. There is nothing as luxurious as walking barefoot on a toasty warm floor in the middle of January.
