I am currently living down in the southeast, plus trust me, it gets so darn warm plus humid in this space of the country.
- There is honestly no way I would ever live here if air conditioners were not available to me, however, way back in the day, not everyone around here had air conditioners in their homes; you can ask various people our age or older, and they will proudly tell you that there was no a/c in their houses when they were a kid.
With that being said, I know it, however I am not that type of guy. We consistently had air conditioner, ever since we moved from the northeast to the southeast! I don’t assume our mother could have survived without it. I do remember, though, our Aunt Bet’s home only had box fans, but let me assure you, not a single person wanted to visit our Aunt Bet. It was just so darn warm in there! Anyway, the air conditioner really saved my life later, or so I believe! Once, when I was a kid, I was at John Prince Park plus was playing frisbee with our siblings. Every time I was able to run fast and jump high and then snatch the frisbee out of the air, everyone applauded, so I kept doing it, but I was starting to feel very dizzy and clammy. It almost felt enjoy the air had become a natural heater! With that being said, eventually, I just collapsed on the ground plus was going in and out of consciousness. One of the park employees saw me, picked me up, plus rode me to their park office, where the a/c was blasting the sweet relief of cool air. The air conditioner helped revive me. If it wasn’t for the a/c, I honestly would have died from heat stroke.
