Heating, cooling, & marriage

Statistically, about half of all marriages will end in divorce; This is unquestionably concerned because people make a life long commitment that often ends due to argument that could be repaired; Some usual causes of divorce are currency complications, children, families, lack of intimacy, cheating, & more; A divorce lawyer recentely wrote an article about the craziest reasons he has seen couples get divorced, however one that stood out to myself and others the most was about a couple who got divorced because they had weird heating & cooling preferences; You read that correctly- a couple who was married for 25 years got divorced because of a thermostat.

The divorce lawyer stated that the partner constantly wanted to save currency on the electric bill, so she would make sure the was not too low in the summer time & that the heat was not too high in the winter.

The husband did not enjoy the number on the electric bill, he cared about his indoor comfort above all else. The couple tried to go to marriage counseling & the marriage counselor advised that they buy a smart thermostat which would save them currency & help them compromise on the temperature issue. At first, the couple said the smart thermostat was laboring well for them. They were able to save a little currency on their electric bill, while remaining comfortable. Then a heat wave hit their area. The couple both had the app for the smart thermostat on their phone, so while the partner had the temperature set on her app, the husband would go into his app & regularly bring the temperature down, causing the electric bill to go up.
