When is it time to turn on the air conditioner?

My husband is always asking me how I know it is time to turn on the air conditioner.

My pat answer is to always tell him that I know it is time for the air conditioning because I am too hot.

He just doesn’t think that is a good enough answer. He wants it to be ninety degrees outside before we turn on the air conditioning. Unless it stays in the eighties at night or if the humidity level is over 90% then he will leave the air conditioning on at night. I tell him he is cheap but he tells me that he is being frugal. I have often wondered what the difference between cheap and frugal is except maybe it is like being eccentric crazy. If you are rich, you are eccentric and if you are poor then you are just plain crazy. Last week, I asked him if he could please turn the heating on and he asked me why I wanted the heat on. I was about to get the same argument that I get when I ask to have the air conditioning turned on. I told him that I was freezing and if I didn’t get some heat I was going to move in with my daughter. He started to laugh at me when I said that. He told me it would drive me crazy if I had to move in with our daughter and her family. As much as I love my grandchildren, I just couldn’t live with them. He went downstairs and turned on the furnace so that I had some heat.
